About Catenaccio Solutions
Catenaccio Solutions delivers senior-level cybersecurity advisory to defense contractors, federal agencies, and private sector organizations.
Founded by Michael Lovett — CISSP-certified, Big 4-trained, and a veteran of military network operations at U.S. Special Operations Command — the firm exists to give organizations access to the caliber of advisory that has historically been available only to large enterprises. Every engagement is principal-led. Clients work directly with Michael from the first conversation through the final deliverable.
Catenaccio Solutions is registered on the System for Award Management (SAM) and certified as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Minority-Owned Business.
Michael Lovett | Founder & Principal CISSP | Executive MBA Candidate, Howard University | U.S. Military Veteran
Michael Lovett is a CISSP-certified cybersecurity professional with over a decade of experience spanning Big 4 consulting, federal program management, and U.S. military operations. He founded Catenaccio Solutions to deliver senior-level cybersecurity advisory to defense contractors, federal agencies, and private sector organizations — without the overhead of a large firm.
Prior to founding Catenaccio, Michael served as a cybersecurity consultant at KPMG, advising Fortune 100 financial services, energy, healthcare, and technology clients on NIST, ISO, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and GDPR compliance — including multinational clinical research programs with PHI and PII governed across U.S. and EU jurisdictions. At the IRS, he led advisory and remediation support for federal cybersecurity compliance programs, working directly with IT leadership and executive stakeholders.
As a Master Sergeant in the Air National Guard, Michael served as a Network Operations Superintendent supporting USSOCOM's Theater Network Operations Control Center for Southwest Asia and the USAFE network at Ramstein Air Base — the largest U.S. Air Force installation outside the United States. His military career included operational responsibility for sensitive SOF network infrastructure supporting active special operations missions across the CENTCOM area of responsibility.
Michael holds a Master of Science in Cybersecurity from DePaul University, and is pursuing an Executive MBA at Howard University.
Why Catenaccio?
Catenaccio takes its name from the Italian defensive football system — a philosophy built on structure, discipline, and refusing to concede ground. Developed in the mid-20th century, it became one of the most studied tactical frameworks in the sport. In cybersecurity, the principles translate directly: layered defenses, disciplined risk management, and the conviction that protecting what matters most is never an afterthought. The name is intentional. So is the work.
